SpeedOne is a 86m fast
catamaran high-speed craft (HSC)ferry operated bySpeedFerries on theirDover - Boulogne line.__TOC__History
HSC "SpeedOne" was built in
1997 at theIncat Yards inTasmania ,Australia as "Incat 045" but was not ordered by anyferry company. Her first use was on charter toTT-Line (Australia) for service betweenMelbourne and Devonport supporting the Spirit of Tasmania(1). After her charter ended she was laid up until May1999 when theAustralian Government leased her from Incat and commissioned Incat 045 into theRoyal Australian Navy . She served for two years under the name HMAS "Jervis Bay" during Operation Spire, the Australian leadINTERFET Peace Keeping mission inEast Timor . She was used to transport troops and equipment. During the ship's two year charter, "Jervis Bay" made 107 trips between Darwin and East Timor, shipping 20,000 passengers, 430 vehicles and 5,600 tonnes of freight, becoming known as the "Dili Express". She was decommissioned on 11 May 2001 and returned toIncat under her original name and was once again laid up. In2002 Incat 045 was chartered to Italian ferry company TRIS and sailed betweenGenua and Palau under the marketing name of "Winner" until the collapse of the company later in2002 . She was sent to be laid up again in Portland,United Kingdom until she was chartered bySpeedFerries in2004 when she was renamed "SpeedOne".SpeedOne is currently registered in
