Supplemental← Route 139 Route 142 → Highway 141 is a highway located in the western St. Louis metropolitan area. Its northern terminus is at Route 340 in Chesterfield in St. Louis County; its southern terminus is at U.S. Route 61/U.S. Route 67 in Arnold, in Jefferson County. The section of Route 141 between Interstate 64 and the St. Louis County/Jefferson County line was upgraded to six lanes in a project completed in 2003. The section in Jefferson County is four lanes. For the majority of its duration, 141 is a divided highway with six to eight lanes up until I-64, where it converges into a two lane road until Olive where it ends.
The northern part of Route 141, from the northern terminus until after Ladue Road, is named Woods Mill Road. Other portions of the highway had been named Meramec Station Road, New Smizer Mill Road, and Vandover Road, but the expansion project caused those to diverge from Route 141.[citation needed]

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) in cooperation with the St. Louis County Department of Highways and Traffic (DHT) will soon be expanding Route 141. MoDOT will expand Route 141 between just south of Ladue Road (Route AB) to Olive Road (Route 340). DHT will extend Route 141 from Olive Road to the Page Avenue Extension (Route 364) at the Maryland Heights Expressway which links to the Earth City Expressway which continues north to Route 370 where it then turns into Missouri Bottom Road.[1]
Single-point urban interchanges are planned at Ladue Rd and Route 340.[2]
There are some construction constraints with the part of the project between Olive and Page. DHT is trying to decide how to maneuver construction without disturbing some of the native wetlands in the corridor. During a heavy rain, the current intersection at Creve Couer Mill Road and Olive has the potential to flood, and most of the area along Creve Cour Mill Road is either wetlands or farmland that lies in a flood plain.
Similar flooding constraints may apply at Ladue Road at Route 141 where there are also major power lines north of the intersection.
On top of these constraints is the cost of the new corridor which is estimated at around $65 million. St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley has called the project "one of St. Louis County’s largest and most important infrastructure improvements this decade." [3] The economic impact of the construction project is not nearly as massive as the ongoing construction on I-64 but is estimated to be about $20 billion.
