KMAV-FM (105.5 FM) is a radio station in Mayville, North Dakota, serving the Red River Valley of eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota with a country music format. KMAV is known as "Your Sports Leader in the Red River Valley" in reference of their coverage of local high school sport events.

Programming

Notable programming includes "Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40," "American Country Countdown," hourly updates from ABC News, and periodic updates from Dakota News Network. During the school year, the station features "Comet Radio" which consists of different shows from students and staff from Mayville's local college, Mayville State University. It airs on Wednesdays during the school year 5:30-11:00pm.

While known for sports coverage, KMAV-FM plays country music during the day, oldies from 2-4 PM, and polka 11:30-1:00 on most Sundays. KMAV-FM was originally located at 101.7 on the radio dial until the 1980s, and simulcasted with KMSR (formerly KMAV-AM) until 2003.

Family Matters

Three-time North Dakota Sportscaster of the Year, Dan Keating, calls basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, and wrestling. Sons Craig and Jason broadcast basketball, baseball, football, and volleyball. Son Mike occasionally broadcasts baseball and football. Wife Mary "runs the show" in the front office and daughter Jennifer works at the station as a studio engineer. Dan and family were featured in the "Fargo Forum" newspaper in October 2005. KMAV carries over four hundred local game broadcasts per year. In addition to local sports, KMAV airs hundreds of MLB, NBA, NFL, college football, and college basketball games from the ESPN Radio and Sports USA Radio networks.
