This list does not include Serj Tankian solo material or material performed by members or former members of System of a Down that was recorded with Scars on Broadway, Achozen, Serart, Axis of Justice, Buckethead, Mt. Helium or VoKee.

"Toxicity" was the most successful album for the band, earning a triple-platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America. Also, they are the first band since The Beatles to get a pair of chart topping debuts within the same calendar year. They did this with their release of "Mezmerize" and "Hypnotize" in 2005. They had sold almost 20 million albums worldwide, and around 9 million in the United States alone.
