Jatra (Bengal)

Jatra is a form of folk-theatre in Bangladesh and West Bengal province of India. Jatras are usually epic four-hour-long plays featuring loud music, harsh lighting and dramatic props played on giant outdoor stages. Jatras are often very melodramatic with stylised delivery and exaggerated gestures and orations.
