Born-Alive Infants Protection Act

The Born-Alive Infants Protection Act was a law passed by the United States Congress in 2002. It extended legal protection to an infant born alive after a failed attempt at induced abortion.

Identified as Public Law 107-207, it was signed into law August 5, 2002 by President Bush, [ [http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/08/20020805-6.html President Signs Born-Alive Infants Protection Act] , White House press release, 2002-08-05.] and was based on HR 2175 (passed March 12). The Senate counterpart, initiated by Sen.
