Karen Thompson is an American model and actress. She was "Playboy" magazine's Playmate of the Month for its August 1961 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by Mario Casilli.

Little is known about Thompson; "Playboy" has lost her Data Sheet. She was discovered while modeling at a Los Angeles department store.

Thompson made guest appearances on such television shows as "Hawaiian Eye" and "The Aquanauts". "Karen Thompson" is almost certainly a pseudonym. Using the Internet Movie Database, it was possible to find four actresses who had guest-starred on both shows. They are:
