Dunmurry railway station is located in the townland of Dunmurry in south Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The station opened on 12 August 1839.[1] It lies between the centres of Belfast and Lisburn. Access between platform one and two is provided by a passage beneath the railway line. Dunmurry being in the commuter belt between Lisburn and Belfast is a busy station during rush hour bringing workers and students to and from the two cities.

Services

Dunmurry station provides access to the Portadown to Bangor line. Travel time from Dunmury to Lisburn generally takes around fifteen minutes. Travel time from Dunmurry to Belfast Europa approximate at twenty minutes. Passengers travelling to Dublin can travel from Dunmurry to Portadown on the NI Railways service before joining the jointly run Iarnród Éireann and NI Railways "Enterprise" service to Dublin Connolly. This service stops at Portadown, Newry, Drogheda, and Dundalk before arrival in Dublin Connolly. Travel times for Dunmurry to Dublin usually vary between two hours and two and a half hours.

Service

Mondays to Saturdays there is a half hourly service towards Portadown or Newry in one direction and to Bangor Or Belfast in the other with extra services at peak times and the service is hourly in the evenings operated by Northern Ireland Railways.

On Sundays there is an hourly service in each direction.
