Southern California ,United States . It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects withSan Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling State Route 14 (Antelope Valley Freeway). . Previous to the late 1950s or early 1960s, Sierra Highway was signed US 6 in its entirety. The northernmost section of Sierra Highway, between Silver Queen Road south of Mojave and Midland Trail in Mojave, has not been bypassed by a
freeway , and thus still carries SR 14. (There is a break in Sierra Highway at Silver Queen Road south of Mojave; through traffic approaching Silver Queen Road from the south wishing to continue on Sierra Highway must turn west onto Silver Queen Road and then north onto the onramp to northbound Route 14 to resume travel on Sierra Highway.)24.28 (at the bridge carrying SR 14 over SR 14U, just north of the south end of Sierra Highway) north to postmile 31.61 (at the SR 14 ramps near Via Princessa).
