The song was covered by the band Nicklebag, a collaboration between guitarist Stevie Salas and vocalist Bernard Fowler, on their album "12 Hits and a Bump". The track guested Rolling Stones' guitarist Ronnie Wood on slide guitar.

"Hots On for Nowhere" was used in the film "Dogtown and Z-Boys" (2001), one of the few times the band allowed a number from its catalogue to be used in a motion picture.
