Pete Greig is one of the founding leaders of the
24-7 Prayer Movement , an international, interdenominationalChristian community.He was listed by
Relevant Magazine as one of the top fifty 'Revolutionary Leaders' of his generation.Greig worked as part of the ministry of
Jackie Pullinger inHong Kong before returning toEngland . Here he readtheology &sociology at theUniversity of Greenwich inLondon and graduated with a First classB.A. (Hons). He then moved toChichester . Whilst there Greig accepted a pastoral position atRevelation Church , ministering to people with eating-disorders, self-harm and drug-abuse problems.In 1994 Greig married Samie and together they established youth and student congregations in Chichester and
Portsmouth . Both churches began by meeting in bars and focused almost entirely on those people not being reached by traditional church culture.For seven years Greig served vocationally on the senior leadership team of
Revelation Church . He now lives in Guildford, Surrey (just south of London).In 1999 Greig established a single, night-and-day prayer room inspired by the hundred year prayer meeting of the
Moravian Church . The idea caught on and became the24-7 Prayer Movement .At revival meetings, Greig has suggested to the audience that their
amalgam fillings had changed into gold. This happened at the 'Nyhem week' in Sweden in June 1999.
