Maayan Strauss ( _he. מעין שטראוס, born in 1983 in
Jerusalem ) is anIsrael iartist .Strauss studied
architecture at theBezalel Academy of Art and Design inJerusalem . She has exhibited in several galleries and art projects, such as the project "Sharon", that suggests, according to curatorJoshua Simon , "an unlikely connection between the most affluent region in Israel, and the name of the Israeli PM." Tel Aviv Givon Gallery. In the fall of 2004 a magazine of poetry, art and ideas was named after her, (Maayan ). Strauss also appeared in an auto-photograph on the magazine's first cover.In 2005, Strauss was involved in the short film "Beautiful Tamar" as the narrator.
In 2006, she exhibited a work called "Settlement Evacuation" in the
Israel Museum ofJerusalem as part of the "Mini Israel" exhibition that the museum held. Strauss' work was a model of aJewish settlement being evacuated.In May, 2006, Strauss curated with
Roy Arad and Joshua Simon the exhibition "Doron" (present in Hebrew) at the Minshar Gallery in Tel Aviv.External links
