The station primarily features classical music programming, but carries NPR news programs daily, as well as jazz music for ninety minutes every weeknight and all evening on Fridays and folk music Saturday evenings. WUOT is licensed to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and maintains studios on the campus. The station also carries programming from Public Radio International and American Public Media, two other public radio networks. WUOT broadcasts a signal covering most of central eastern Tennessee, extreme western North Carolina, and parts of southeastern Kentucky.
