- Electoral district of Box Hill
The Electoral district of Box Hill is an eastern metropolitan electorate approximately 12 kilometres east of
Melbourne ,Australia in Victoria's Legislative Assembly.The Box Hill District covers an area of 22 square kilometres, including the suburbs of Box Hill, Box Hill North, Kerrimuir and Mont Albert and parts of the suburbs of Balwyn, Balwyn North, Canterbury and Surrey Hills.
The district boundaries include Koonung Creek in part of the north, Middleborough Road in the east, parts of Canterbury Road and Riversdale Road in the south, and Balwyn Road for part of the west.
It is part of the Upper House Eastern Metropolitan Region.
Electoral boundary changes
The
Electoral district of Doncaster was split off from Box Hill and created in 1976 due to population growth.A redivision of electorate boundaries in 1991 abolished the Balwyn electorate and incorporated most of it into Box Hill. A large part of the Box Hill electorate (with 17,290 electors) was also transferred to the
Electoral district of Mitcham . These changes took effect after the 1992 Victorian State election.Electoral history
Robert Clark (Liberal) was elected as Member for Box Hill in 1992 and was re-elected in 1996, 1999, 2002 and 2006.

Robert Clark won after receiving 56.13% of the primary vote and 57.50% of the two candidate preferred vote.
Claire Thorn (Labor) andJune Waters (Hope Party [http://www.aec.gov.au/_content/Who/party_reg/registered/hpaee.htm] ) received 39.47% and 4.40% respectively.2002 Election results
Robert Clark won after receiving 46.79% of the primary vote and 51.09% of the two candidate preferred vote during the 2002 Victorian State Election.
Robert Chong (Labor) andHelen Harris (Australian Greens ) polled 37.51% and 15.70% respectively. Overall, there was a 1.1% swing to Labor.2006 Election results
Robert Clark won after receiving 49.49% of the primary vote and 55.22% of the two candidate preferred vote during the 2006 Victorian State Election.
