They chose Louis Davenport to oversee the project and architect Kirtland Cutter to design the building in 1914. The Davenport Hotel was completely restored by developer Walt Worthy in 2002. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
In January 2007 the Davenport Hotel opened its new 21 floor Davenport Tower with 328 additional hotel rooms.
The Davenport Hotel is Spokane's only AAA four diamond hotel and has recently been voted number 5 of the top ten hotels in the world by the users of the travel website Expedia.com.
