Colorado and later moved to California, where she studied at theUniversity of California, Berkeley . In 1920 she earned herMaster's degree inclinical psychology .After she was left a
widow with two children, she studiedanthropology , met and marriedAlfred Kroeber , one of the leading American anthropologists of his generation and himself a widower. After his death, Theodora Kroeber would write his biography. WriterUrsula K. Le Guin is their daughter, and English professorKarl Kroeber their son.
