Derek Ezra, Baron Ezra MBE (born 23 February 1919) is a Liberal Democrat life peer in the United Kingdom House of Lords and former chairman of the National Coal Board. He was the Liberal Democrats' Spokesman for Energy Matters from 1998-2005[1] and an Honorary Fellow of Magdalene College, Cambridge.
The Combustion Engineering Association gives the Derek Ezra award for "outstanding achievement in the study of combustion engineering".
He first joined the Liberal Party in 1936 at university, when he joined Cambridge University Liberal Club, whose committee he later became a member of.[2] He was elevated to the life peerage as Baron Ezra, of Horsham in the County of West Sussex in 1982. He is widowed and currently lives in Belgravia.
