- Texas Senate, District 18
District 18 of the
Texas Senate is a senatorial district that currently serves all of Aransas, Austin, Bastrop, Caldwell, Calhoun, Colorado, DeWitt, Fayette, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Matagorda, Refugio, Victoria, Waller, Washington and Wharton counties and a western portion of Fort Bend County in the U.S. state ofTexas . The current Senator from District 18 is RepublicanGlenn Hegar , who won the seat in 2006 after incumbent DemocratKen Armbrister retired, making it the only Texas Senate seat to switch parties in 2006, which was highly unusual as 2006 was a forgettable year for Republicans, who lost control of both houses of the United States Congress that year.Election history
