Preethi Nair (born 1971) is a British author of
South Indian heritage. Born inKerala ,India , she came to theUnited Kingdom as a child. She worked as amanagement consultant , but gave up her job to become awriter .Preethi's first novel, "Gypsy Masala", was rejected by several publishers. She then set up her own
publishing company andPR agency ,Nine Fish , inNorthampton , to publish and promote the book.She created an
alter ego , Pru Menon, in order to publicize the book. Ms Nair went on to sign a three-book deal withHarper Collins . She won theAsian Woman of Achievement award. Ironically, Pru was shortlisted as Publicist of the Year for thePPC Awards .Preethi's other books include "100 Shades of White", which has been bought by the
BBC for a television adaptation; and "The Colour of Love".External links
