Electoral district of Orange

Orange is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It is represented by Russell Turner of the National Party of Australia.

According to the report for the 2004 redistribution of electoral districts, it is estimated that the electoral district will have 48,200 electors on 29 April 2007. [cite web

History

Orange was created in 1859. Orange and Hartley were absorbed into Bathurst, which elected three members under proportional representation, between 1920 to 1927. In 1927 Bathurst, Hartley and Orange were recreated as single-member electorates.
