Shirone, Niigata

was a city located in Niigata, Japan.

As of 2003, the city had an estimated population of 39,966 and density of 518.63 persons per km². The total area was 77.06 km².

The city was founded on June 1, 1959. In March 2005, Shirone merged with Niigata City and ceased to exist. The area is now part of Minami-ku ward.
