Lyskovo ( _ru. Лысково) is a town in
Nizhny Novgorod Oblast ,Russia , located on the southern side of theVolga River (since the 1980s, forming theCheboksary Reservoir ), opposite the mouth of theKerzhenets River , 90 km south-east ofNizhny Novgorod .Lyskovo is the administrative center of
Lyskovsky District . Population: 23,901 (2002 Census); 25,029 (1989 Census).The settlement of Lyskovo was first mentioned in 1410. It received town status in 1925.
The city is served by Highway M7 (Nizhny Novgorod -
Kazan ). There are no railways in Lyskovo or anywhere in the district.Ferry service connects the city withMakaryevo and its famous monastery.Links
