El Dorado, California , USA, and is a member of theEl Dorado Union High School District . This school was built in 1999 and currently has a student body of about 1300 students. Since it is the newest school in the district it is known as the "Technology School" of the high school district. Union Mine's school colors are burgundy and navy, and theirmascot is the Diamondback. The current principal of Union Mine is Mr. Deville, who took over for Carl Fickle.Union Mine is known for its drafting and architectural design classes, its
Advanced Placement -certified classes, its 4x4 schedule, and its dedication to the arts. The art program comprises art and three-dimensionaldesign formats, dance classes, theater, and its music department. Their marching band is distinguished in its class and often receives high scores and placing at band reviews. Their football team has clinched the S.V.C title three years running and got up as far as the conference champions. Varsity softball as well as varsity boys basketball have also won league championships.Union Mine was once home to the cult the Jasonites, named after leader Jason Ralphs. They planned the take over of Canada and paid homage daily to teacher Chuck Prior.
