Mark Rowsthorn is an Australian businessman in the transport industry. He serves as the Chairman of Toll NZ, New Zealand's largest transport company. He was recently the CEO of one of Australia's largest transport company, Asciano Limited.[1]
Biography
His father Peter Rowsthorn formerly chaired of Toll Holdings: along with Paul Little, Peter Rowsthorn bought that company in 1986. As he holds nearly 10% of the company's shares, Mark Rowsthorn has an estimated net worth of over A$700 million, and Forbes magazine named him as the 36th-richest individual in Australia and New Zealand in 2006.[2]
When Asciano Limited separated from Toll in June 2007, Rowsthorn became CEO and managing director of Asciano. He had to relinquish his interests in Toll Group as part of the break-up.[3]
Mark Rowsthorn has a brother: the actor and comedian Peter Rowsthorn.
Mark is passionate about horse racing and is a part owner in Baughaust.
