"For Your Own Special Sweetheart" was the third album by Washington D.C. indie rockers, Jawbox. It was their first album after leaving Dischord Records to sign to Atlantic Records, with them being the first band to do so. "Savory" was the album's first single. The album was not much of a commercial success, despite being being well received by critics.

"Savory" was covered by Sacramento metal band Deftones along with altenative rock group Far on their B-Sides and Rarities album.

On the original album, "U-Trau" is 3:03. On the iTunes re-release by DeSoto Records, it is 3:11, pointing out that "Whitney Walks" was meant to originally be a hidden track or that "U-Trau" was meant to be longer, but Atlantic cut out the remaining 7 seconds.
