BORAP passive sensor

BORAP passive sensor

BORAP is an ELINT/ESM system designed and developed by the [http://www.era.cz ERA] company in the Czech Republic, manufacturers of the VERA system.

BORAP is designed for the detection, identification, location and tracking of air, ground and naval targets using an advanced wideband interferometric direction finding technique complemented with a high performance ELINT analysis subsystem. Two or more BORAP stations locate emitters through triangulation. It can alternatively be used in combination with VERA systems to locate targets by the intersection of lines of bearing with hyperbola.

BORAP is able to handle all types of modern pulsed and continuous wave (CW) radar waveforms, SSR and IFF transponder returns, TACAN/DME interrogators and other identification, navigation and communication means representing the majority of contemporary electronic warfare threats. It can track 200 targets simultaneously. Its frequency range is 1-18 GHz, although the manufacturer offers an optional capability from 0.5 to 40 GHz. It is typically line-of-sight limited, with a nominal range of 500 km.

The system is provided in a mobile version.
