Alaska Society for Technology in Education

The Alaska Society for Technology in Education (ASTE) is a group of technology educator volunteers in the state of Alaska.

ASTE was founded in 1981 and holds a quarterly conference where technology coordinators from across the state meet to present and share on a variety of technology topics.

ASTE, a non profit organization, has been in existence since 1981. In its infancy ASTE originated as Alaska Association for Computers in Education (AACED), whose primary purpose was to advocate, communicate and train education professionals.

Throngs of teachers who want a break from classroom teaching compete for permission to attend ASTE so that they may be eligible for days off work.
