WEWN is the shortwave radio outlet of the Eternal Word Television Network, a large Catholic international broadcaster. The station broadcasts from the city of Irondale, Alabama, on the outskirts of Birmingham with a high transmitter power of 500 kilowatts. The station runs three programming streams, targeted at North America, Latin America, and Africa (as well as Europe on a secondary basis). Programming is similar to that of the network's television channel.

*Spanish to Latin America: 11,870 and 7,540 kHz from 0000 to 1100 UTC; 11,875 and 7,540 kHz from 1100 to 1300 UTC; 15,745 and 9,885 kHz from 1300 to 2300 UTC; 15745 and 7540 kHz from 2300 to 0000 UTC.

*English to Africa and Europe: 7570 kHz from 0500 to 0800 UTC; 15785 kHz between 1600 and 2000 UTC; 17595 kHz from 2000 to 2200 UTC; 7,560 kHz from 2200 to 2400 UTC.
