Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School is the first public all-girls school in the state of Texas. Rangel, which is a part of the Dallas Independent School District, was established in 2004 in the city of Dallas.

In 2004 the school housed only seventh and eighth grade but expanded by an additional grade each year until grades sixth through twelve will be reached in the 2008-2009 school year and subsequently maintained.

Emphasizing science and technology, the curriculum is almost completely Pre-AP. There are, six A.P. courses offered.Fact|date=December 2007 Graduates are guaranteed money for college if necessary from the foundation supporting the school (founded by the owner of Palm Harbor Homes, Mr. Lee Posey). As many of the students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds, additional supplements such as laptop computers are distributed to aid in classwork. The students are loaned laptops at the beginning of the year to help them with their homework.

The original location of the school was the old Stephen J. Hay building, located in the Oak Lawn area. In 2006, the school was transferred to a larger campus in South Dallas that had previously housed the Daniel "Chappie" James Learning Center. Rangel High School are 2008 District Champions in High School One Act Play.

Rangel has a school uniform policy, with students wearing red, navy, and white plaid skirts, and white blouses. The middle school students wear v-neck red pullover sweaters, while high school students wear navy blue cardigans, and juniors and seniors wearing navy blue blazers. All students wear black or navy blue dress shoes.
