Kazipet is a town in
Warangal district ,Andhra Pradesh ,India , one of the tri-cities of Warangal-Hanamakonda-Kazipet.Railway Junction
Kazipet is famous for being a major railway junction and locomotive (largely diesel) maintenance division in Andhra Pradesh after
Vijayawada . It is the hub connecting North and South, East and West India with more than 60 trains passing through. The railway junction is located next to a large granite hill (known as bodigutta), which is used to house radio communications, presumably for the railways. The railway station has several platforms (3). Platform 1 is now largely defunct. It was used as a VIP siding, where VIP coaches were brought in and the guests could move from the station bypassing the main gates. But this is no longer practiced.Educational Institutes
Kazipet is well known for its
convent education system with 3 major convent schools (St. Gabriels, St. Anns, and Fatima High School). These schools are well recognized throughout the state. Kazipet also have schools run by South Central Railways. They are SC Rly Mixed High School (English Medium) SC Rly Boys High School (Telugu Medium), SC Rly Girls High School (Telugu Medium).One of India's best engineering institutes (National Institute of Technology, Warangal- NIT) is located in Kazipet. The Kakatiya University [http://www.kakatiya.ac.in] is 9 kilometers from Kazipet railway station.

The town is diverse, with Hindus, Christians, and Muslims. Many of the residents are employees of Indian Railways. The shopping center next to the police station is a highlight to the town. With road widening the town had a new look and the renovated railway station is cap added. The CELL PHONE business increased more than 100% in the last few years. Kazipet was already a hub to railways and now it's emerging as a hub town for nearby villages like Somidi, Darga, BodiGutta. The bridge near Kanchiti is convenient for commuting and reduced the risk of accidents. The bypass road between SiddarthaNagar/Waddepally and KU road is boon to the traffic going to Karimanagar and for students daily commuting to KU and KITS. The real–estate within 5 to 7 km has sky–rocketed and will continue to grow.
