Nizamabad - Visakhapatnam Express

The Nizamabad - Visakhapatnam Express is a passenger rail service connecting the cities of Nizamabad and Visakhapatnam in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is jointly operated by the South Central Railway and East Coast Railway zones of the Indian Railways. The service was commissioned in October, 2006 after the complete conversion of the Nanded division of the South Central Railway from metre gauge into broad gauge under Project Unigauge. This is a non-daily service that runs on Thursdays and Sundays.

* Nizamabad-Vishakhapatnam departure-- 18.30 arrival-- 10.55 (Day 2)

* Visakhapatnam-Nizamabad departure-- 19.40 arrival-- 11.55 (Day 2)

* The train travels a distance of 861 km.

Composition

NZB-VSKP Express consists of 17 coaches and 1 locomotive.
* 1 x AC II coach
* 1 x AC III coach
* 10 x III tier Sleeper
* 4 x General/Unreserved
* 1 x RMP

The coaches are commissioned from the VSKP coaching depot. Unusually, few coaches from KCG were noted.

Locomotive

The train is hauled between Nizamabad and Secunderabad JN by a single WDM3A locomotive from the Guntakal shed. Between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam it is hauled by a single WAM4P locomotive belonging to the Vijayawada shed.
