Westleton is a village in
Suffolk ,England . It is located 5 miles northeast ofSaxmundham . It is situated near the North Sea coast on the Suffolk Sandlings - an extensive, now much altered, area of lowland heathland.Westleton Heath National Nature Reserve is 1 km north east of the village. The heath is crossed by a minor road from Westleton to the coastal village of
Dunwich , 2 km to the east. The famousRSPB Minsmere nature reserve lies immediately to the east of the village.Westleton has a Post Office, two pubs, a tea room, a bookshop, a village green and a duck pond.
The village is home to Chapel Books, an independent bookshop house in an old chapel. It has been immortalised in print in
Julie Myerson 's 2003 novel, "Something Might Happen", as the location for a seduction scene.You can stay at the Westleton Crown. This historic coaching inn dates back to the 12th century and has a well respected restaurant and 25 bedrooms.
