Yaya Dillo Djérou

Yaya Dillo Djérou

Yaya Dillo Djérou is the 30-year old leader and founder, along with his brother, of Platform for Change, Unity and Democracy, a Chadian rebel group and subgroup within the United Front for Democratic Change rebel alliance. Both Djérou and his brother are nephews of current Chadian President Idriss Déby, who the cousins want to remove from office. Djérou's troops took part in an attack on the Chadian city of Adré on December 18, 2005. On December 23, the Chadian government declared a "state of belligerance" with its neighbor Sudan who it accuses of supporting the rebels, resulting in the current Chad-Sudan Conflict.
