The false anemone ("Anemonopsis macrophylla") is a flowering plant that can grow up to 3 ft tall and is rather similar to a Japanese anemone due to its waxy petals and arching branches. Its blue and lavender flowers comes into bloom between July and September. In order to survive, the false anemone must be kept in some shade or its fern-like leaves will die, thus killing the plant.
