The hepatic artery proper (also proper hepatic artery), arises from thecommon hepatic artery and runs alongside theportal vein and thecommon bile duct to form theportal triad . It subsequently gives off thecystic artery which feeds thegallbladder before bifurcating into the right and left hepatic arteries.
