Reduced Gradient Bubble Model
- Reduced Gradient Bubble Model
The RGBM is a Dr Bruce Wienke's algorithm, based on Varying Permeability Model, that is used to calculate the decompression stops needed for a particular dive profile.
It is used in several dive computers, particularly those made by Suunto, [http://www.mares.com/ Mares] , [http://www.hs-eng.com/ HydroSpace Engineering] and [http://www.utc-digital.com/ Underwater Technology Center] . It is characterised by the assumption of asymmetric offgassing and compensation for nitrogen microbubbles, which can reduce the rate of offgassing.
