Extracurricular activities
School colors and mascot
The school colors are purple and cream. The mascot of the Mount is a purple Gael. Though the Gael is similar to the University of Notre Dame's mascot, it represents the school's Roman Catholic heritage and was first used in the 1920s, 15 years prior to the first use on Notre Dames campus. That heritage notwithstanding, Mount Saint Joseph College has a religiously and ethnically diverse campus.
Sports
Mount Saint Joseph plays most of its sports including football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, water polo and tennis in the MIAA 'A' Conference against other Catholic and private schools. The most success has come from the soccer program, whose varsity team are defending champions, as well as basketball and volleyball. The soccer team is ranked #1 by the Baltimore Sun.
Clubs and Activities
Mount Saint Joseph sponsors many student-inspired clubs such as chain-mail club, the Beatles club, the anime club, the video game club, and an It's Academic team. There is also a chapter of the National Honor Society, as well as an ACE Mentoring program for aspiring engineers.
