Zeinab Badawi — born birth date and age|1959|10|03|df=y — is a
television andradio reporter andnews presenter in theUnited Kingdom . She was the first presenter of theITV Morning News co-presented "Channel 4 News" withJon Snow for several years, before joiningBBC News .Badawi was born in
Sudan and has lived in Britain since the age of two. She graduated fromOxford University (St Hilda's College) inPolitics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) with a post-graduate degree on theMiddle East from theUniversity of London (School of Oriental and African Studies ), awarded with a distinction. She joinedITN and in 1989 she began working on "Channel 4 News", leaving for theBBC in 1998. She worked atWestminster on live political programmes for five years, and also worked on BBC radio, regularly presenting "The World Tonight " onBBC Radio 4 andBBC World Service 's "Newshour".In 2005, Badawi became the new presenter of "The World" on
BBC Four , the UK's first daily news bulletin devoted principally to international news. In May 2007 this programme was re branded as World News Today.She has been an adviser to the
Foreign Policy Centre and a Council Member of theOverseas Development Institute . She is a trustee of the National Portrait Gallery and theBritish Council .External links
