WQBT (94.1 FM), known as "94.1 The Beat", is a Mainstream Urban radio station targeted towards Savannah, Georgia.

Programming

The station had controversial morning hosts Star and Buc Wild -- which replaced Russ Parr in the morning slot. Parr's show has since returned to WQBT's morning drive time slot.

History

Before it was an Mainstream Urban formatted station, it had a long stint as a country music formatted station (first as "Continuous Country - WCHY - Y-94" and then as "WSCA-FM - Cat Country 94"). Before the mid-70's, the station was a simulcast of WTOC (AM), and had the callsign of WTOC-FM. Today it is owned by Clear Channel Broadcasting.

The station's previous callsign, WCHY-FM, is now in Madison, Wisconsin at Entercom-owned Adult Hits station, "105-1 Charlie FM - We Play Anything!".
