Leesville Road High School (or Leesville High School, LRHS), which opened its doors in 1993, is a comprehensive public high school in Wake County located at 8409 Leesville Road, Raleigh, North Carolina. It has 2,176 enrolled students (checked [http://www.ncreportcards.org/src/schDetails.jsp?pYear=2004-2005&pLEACode=920&pSchCode=473 7-2-2006] ). LRHS offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including band, computer club, foreign language, newspaper, yearbook, National Honor Society, Student Council, and many other clubs.

Academics

Leesville Road High School has consistently ranked as a North Carolina [http://www.wcpss.net/evaluation-research/abcs_faqs.html School of Distinction] . Its most recent ranking was in the 2005-2006 school year. Leesville offers its students a wide variety of advanced and 14 Advanced Placement courses in various subjects. Leesville also offers the following foreign language courses: Spanish, French, German, and Latin. In math and English EOC scores, Leesville ranks above the North Carolina average. In 2005, Leesville scored 90% and 92% in English and Math respectively. The state average was 82% and 80%. Athletics

Leesville High offers various athletic activities to its students including, but not limited to, football, basketball, soccer, gymnastics and wrestling.

At various Leesville Road sporting events (especially football games), LRHS students adorned in green sweatshirts line the sidelines as the Leesville Loonies, the adoring fans of the Pride.

The Leesville complex

Leesville Road High School is physically connected to Leesville Road Elementary and Leesville Road Middle, forming what is commonly called the "Leesville Complex".
