Tokyo, JapanOccupation Writer Yuka Murayama (村山由佳 Murayama Yuka ) (born July 10, 1964 in Tokyo) is a modern Japanese female writer. She graduated from Rikkyo University and majored in Japanese literature.
Biography
Before becoming a writer she worked at as a real estate agent and a teacher at a cram school. In 1987, her first novel, Angel Egg, won the Subaru award in Japan. After garnering the prize, she produced many other novels: Wild Winds, Bad Kids, Delicious Coffee Series, among others. Angel Egg was adapted to film in 2006 as The Angel's Egg, directed by Shin Togashi.[1]
Yuka Murayama lives in Chiba Prefecture near Tokyo. An energetic and bright woman, she not only enjoys writing novels but her other hobbies: horseback riding, growing vegetables, and travelling. Her novels have a purity of feeling which is rich in the details of our common experiences.
