Arrowhead High School was founded in 1956 in Hartland, Wisconsin. The original high school was what is today known as South Campus. Arrowhead has since expanded to a North Campus (juniors & seniors) and the original building of South Campus (freshmen & sophomores). In 2004, Arrowhead became the first non-professional venue in Wisconsin to use
FieldTurf on their football field when they installed it at Pfeiffer Memorial Stadium. 2006 marked the 50th anniversary of the school. In 2007, the school renovated its East Gym in North Campus to include a brand-new wooden floor with their "A" logo at halfcourt.Academic Performance

Newsweek covering the nation's top 1,300 high schools, Arrowhead ranked 696in the nation. The school was ranked 749th in the nation in 2007. [ [http://www.newsweek.com/id/39380/?sort=Rank&count=1351&Search=&start=700&limit=100&year=2007& "America's Top Public High Schools"] , "Newsweek ",May 22 ,2007 . AccessedNovember 14 ,2007 .]Class offerings consist of nearly two hundred courses. There are honors sequences in English, mathematics, social studies, science, art, and band. There are currently 17 Advanced Placement courses in which over 350 students take over 600 Advanced Placement tests. Opportunities are offered in "transcripted credit" agreements with
Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) in which students earn technical school credit for high school courses in such areas as auto, drafting, fashion merchandising, childcare, commercial art, and computer technology. In addition, students participate in manufacturing and health apprenticeships through WCTC.The "Something for Everyone" theme is achieved through a 10-period day in which students take a minimum of seven classes. Classes consist of 40-minute daily classes, alternate-day classes for 84 minutes (typically in laboratory courses), 60-minute Advanced Placement classes, and block classes in which a year-long course in taught for a double period for one semester. Of the 50 credits required for graduation, 18 are electives. The flexible schedule is taught by 151 teachers with an average of over 15 years of experience. Fifty-nine percent of the faculty have masters degrees and above. The staff is also equipped with state of the art technology and laboratory facilities. The educational experience extends throughout the community as the high school serves as a community center for Lake Country area citizens in terms of concerts, lectures, athletic events, seminars, and evening classes.
