United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 1.3square mile s (3.3km² ), of which, 1.2 square miles (3.1 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (6.25%) is water.Demographics

census GR|2 of 2000, there were 1,319 people, 593 households, and 367 families residing in the village. Thepopulation density was 1,095.4 people per square mile (424.4/km²). There were 622 housing units at an average density of 516.6/sq mi (200.1/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.26% White, 0.23% Black or African American, 0.68% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.23% from other races, and 0.45% from two or more races. 0.61% of the population wereHispanic orLatino of any race.There were 593 households out of which 28.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.1% were married couples living together, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.1% were non-families. 31.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.22 and the average family size was 2.78.
In the village the population was spread out with 22.4% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 32.6% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 15.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 100.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.7 males.
