Lieutenant-Colonel Koichi Morita (1865 – 1929) was a Japanese army officer born in Tokyo.
Having studied military science in the United States and Germany, he was posted to the War Ministry in 1890. He fought in Korea during the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-5 before serving under General Nogi Maresuke in Formosa. During the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-5, he was a staff officer in General Nogi's Third Army, and was prominent in the capture of Port Arthur.
He returned to the War Ministry in 1910, where he remained throughout the First World War, retiring from the army in 1925.
