California's 18th congressional district is in the northern San Joaquin Valley of California, and includes the cities of Stockton, Modesto, Ceres, Atwater, Merced and Los Banos. It runs from San Joaquin County, south to Stanislaus, Merced, Madera and Fresno counties.

It was once represented by Democrat Gary Condit, whose previous district, the 15th, was moved in the redistricting after the 1990 Census. It is now represented by Democrat Dennis Cardoza.
