Hawaii ,United States , and the only settlement on the island of Niokinaihau. It is at the center of the small island, andNative Hawaiians who live in this village speak theHawaiian language . The community lives as they did hundreds of years ago, and the modern amenities of life are extremely limited. Access to the town (as well as the whole island) is limited to Niihau residents. Only official vistors and invited guests are permitted. Puokinauwai has a one-room schoolhouse. Niokinaihau is located about 29 km (18 miles) west of Kauaokinai.Puokinauwai is the westernmost community in the United States.fact|date=August 2008
