The Turtle Mountains ('Amat 'Achii'ar [Munro, P et al. "A Mojave Dictionary" Los Angeles: UCLA, 1992] in Mojave) of California are found in the southeastern part of the state north of the small community of Rice and Highway 62. The range lies in a north-south direction east of the Old Woman Mountains and Ward Valley, and west of the Mopah Range. The mountains reach an elevation of 4,231 feet above sea level at Bolson Peak.
