May 7 ,1829 –March 31 ,1902 ) was a Canadian politician.Born in Côte-Saint-Michel,
Lower Canada (nowQuebec ) which is on the island ofMontreal , the son of Alexander Ogilvie and Helen Watson, he owned a mill named A.W. Ogilvie & Company.In 1867, he was acclaimed to the
Legislative Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Montreal West. He did not run in 1871. He was elected again in 1875 this time in the riding of Montreal Centre. He did not run in 1878.In 1881, he was appointed to the
Senate of Canada representing the senatorial division of Alma, Quebec. A Conservative, he resigned in 1901.Alexander Walker Ogilvie died in 1902 and was buried in the
Mount Royal Cemetery in Montreal.References
