Interstate 359 (abbreviated I-359) is a spur from Interstate 20 and Interstate 59 that provides access to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It runs for 2.3 miles (3.7 km) from Interstate 59 north to 15th Street in downtown Tuscaloosa. The highway also serves as the route for U.S. Highway 11 and State Route 69. The highway continues through Tuscaloosa as a surface street as the route for U.S. Highway 43 and State Route 69.

History

The Interstate 359 freeway first opened to 35th Street sometime in the late 1970s, and later opened the rest of the way to downtown Tuscaloosa by 1982.cite web
