Website Mayde Creek High School Mayde Creek High School (MCHS) is a public high school located on Groschke Road in unincorporated Harris County, Texas and is part of the Katy Independent School District. Mayde Creek serves the portions of the city of Houston located in Katy ISD, including Addicks. Mayde Creek also serves many unincorporated communities in Harris County.
The school opened in 1984. When the school opened it had only two grades, eighth and ninth. By the 1986-1987 academic year it held 9th, 10th and 11th graders; the first class of students graduated in 1988.
The school building is divided into two sections, the smaller of which serves as the "Ninth Grade Center". There is a Performing Arts Center and a Natatorium.
Unusual architectural features of the Mayde Creek High School campus includes an open floor-plan cafeteria, a wall, and a large number of glass bricks.

Activities and clubs
Speech and debate
Mayde Creek is involved in many tournaments and has won many speech and debate competitions over the years, these include both national and state records.
In the 2009 debate season, the Mayde Creek Debate team went on to win many awards and recognitions. They also hosted their own speech and debate tournament. While in the 2010-2011 season, the team fielded what many have called the best group of senior debaters since 2005. This group of seniors, under the coaching of communications teacher Greg McGee, have won nearly every tournament attended -- with first place trophies from tournaments on the local, regional and national levels. Two seniors have qualified for the Tournament of Champions and the National Forensics League Tournament.
Band
The MCHS Mighty Ram Band is the only marching band in Katy ISD to have straight 1's at U.I.L. contests nine years in a row.[citation needed] The band is currently under the direction of James Dolnik, Danny Rivera and Mark Keene.
Publications
The Rampage is the official newspaper of Mayde Creek. The school's yearbook is The Paladin.
Academic Challenge (AC)
The Ram AC team competes numerous times a year under the leadership of government teacher James Herzberg. The Academic challenge team, despite its status as a public school in a field of mainly private schools, has won numerous awards for their success in multiple tournaments.
Drill team
The Mayde Creek Martinettes were established in April of 1985 by Mrs. Patti Phillips Otwell. There were 24 original members with 3 officers. The team has grown tremendously over the years.
